Nail Polish Organization

Hey guys and girls!

Haven't posted in a bit but I have been taking lots of pics of my nails and have been increasing my collection nonetheless. I have officially run out of space on my nail wall and have resorted to storing my extra polishes in a drawer again. But the following are some pictures of how I constructed my nail wall organization.

I went to Ikea and picked up items to help organize and spice up my spare room so that it could be of better use. I started by laying everything out on the floor to get an idea how I wanted them placed on the wall.

I then placed my polishes on the racks.
If you're wondering the "nail racks" are actually picture frame holders from Ikea. But are really stable and work perfect to mount polishes!
This is when I came to the realization that I had too many polished for the initial 3 racks I bought. And had to run back to the store to grab a 4th.

I also got this craft cart as a gift from my sister to help organize all the rest of my supplies. I have everything including nail supplies, hair tools, makeup and craft supplies filling the drawers.

This is how it ended up looking as of September last year. I have changed it some since then but I have yet to complete the area as it is still a work in progress!

I will create a follow up post with new, updated pictures of the collection. So STAY TUNED!

Caviar manicure

Due to personal request I decided to do a caviar manicure. This is a textured finish. There are several pricey kits out there to achieve this look but to give myself more versatility I chose another method to achieve this look! I purchased the Martha Stewart micro beads kit at Michaels and used polish I already owned. Last time I did this I mixed the beads to have a multidimensional color pattern. This time I just did a gold metallic bead to keep it simple. The following are pictures of the steps I followed this time.

I tested 2 techniques to apply the micro beads.   First I sprinkled the beads on the wet polish and pressed them in to ensure they stuck. This   seemed to be the better method. The second way I attempted was dipping my finger with wet polish into a pile of beads on a paper. This caused them to clump together instead of sticking to the nail. So I would recommend sprinkling them on for the best results.

Enjoy!

4th of July flare!

Ok so I haven't posted in awhile but that doesn't mean I haven't been indulging in polishes. Since it was the holiday and I had to work I decided to have a little finger fun! I'm currently using the Essie base coat. And still using my favorite fast drying top coat by Seche Vite. But all the colors I used were by Julep. The glitter is actually from the July maven box last year called America.

BTW I painted these right before I left for work so I accidentally wrinkled a few fingers :-( so please ignore...
